Description

Nitric oxide is a yellow-green toxic gas with strong irritating odor. It’s a nitroxide compound with a valence of +2. A gas insoluble in water. Because nitrogen oxide contains free radicals, it is chemically very reactive. When it reacts with oxygen, it forms a corrosive gas called nitrogen dioxide (NO2), which reacts with water to form nitric acid.

Application

Mainly used in silicon oxide film formation, chemical vapor deposition, rocket propellant, standard gas, calibration gas, atmospheric monitoring standard mixture.

Space industry nitric oxide can be used as propellant for space rockets and satellites.
It is mainly used for silicon oxide film formation, oxidation and chemical vapor deposition in electronics industry.
It is an important intermediate in the manufacture of nitric acid.
